The game collects nothing.
CHEZABLE plays on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and the game sends us nothing. This website is the exception: if you allow it, it measures visits with Google Analytics, and if you ask a coach about lessons, it passes on what you write. This policy covers all three, and says which is which.

Collects nothing at all.
We operate no service that the game talks to. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party tracking of any kind. There is no identifier for your device or for you, because the app never sends anything anywhere to attach one to.
Counts visits, as far as you allow.
On your first visit we ask how much this site may measure, and offer three answers of equal weight. Until you answer, the analytics script is not loaded and nothing about your visit is sent to anyone. With Accept all or Minimal, Google Analytics 4 records:
How you arrived — the site or search engine that linked here, and any campaign tag on the link you followed.
What you looked at — the pages you viewed, in which language, and for roughly how long.
Which download buttons you pressed — the platform (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS or Android) and where on the site the button was. Until the app is released, this is how we learn which platforms people are waiting for.
Your device, in general terms — device type, operating system, browser, screen size, and an approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address.
With Accept all, Google Analytics 4 records the above and sets two cookies that last two years, so that a returning browser counts as one visitor. With Minimal, it records the same things with the same two cookies, but they expire when you close your browser: a visit is counted once, and your next one starts as a stranger. With Essential only, no cookies are set and nothing is sent. Whichever you choose, we use this to learn how many people visit, where they come from and what to build first — not who they are. Measuring visits collects no name, email address or account, we send Google nothing that identifies you, and Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not combine this data with any other source and do not use it for advertising. Google keeps the visit-level data for no more than 14 months; what remains after that are totals, such as visits per country per week, that relate to no browser.
Who is responsible, and on what basis. Hekaya Agency, Kampala, Uganda, is responsible for this data, and relies on your consent to collect it. Choosing Essential only changes nothing about the site except that your visit is not measured.
What you send a coach, and who sees it.
When you ask a coach about lessons, the form sends us what you type: your name and email address, and whatever else you choose to add — a phone number, who the lessons are for, a learner's age, your message. Hekaya Agency receives it by email and forwards it to the coach you chose, and to no one else; the coach then replies to you directly, and what you arrange with them is between you. We keep the email only as long as it takes to put you in touch, and delete it within twelve months. You agree to this by ticking the box on the form, and you can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time. To keep automated spam out, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it; Cloudflare, which also hosts this website and delivers the email, processes your enquiry on our behalf.
Nothing from YouTube until you press play.
Some articles and coach pages include videos. Until you press play, the page requests nothing from YouTube, not even a picture. When you press play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and from then on Google's privacy policy applies to what happens in that player.
Two, and none with Essential only.
With Accept all or Minimal, Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site. Their lifetime is what differs:
_ga — a random identifier, so that visits from the same browser are counted as one visitor. Expires after 2 years with Accept all; when you close your browser with Minimal.
_ga_<ID> — keeps track of the current visit. Expires after 2 years with Accept all; when you close your browser with Minimal.
Your own choices — your answer to this question and the colour theme you pick — are kept in your browser's local storage, not in cookies, whatever you answer. They are settings you asked for, never sent to us; we ask the cookie question again after twelve months.
Essential only sets no cookies. You can change your answer at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of each page; moving to Minimal replaces the two-year cookies with session ones, and moving to Essential only removes them.
Your games, where you left them.
The game saves what it needs to carry on between sessions. All of it lives in the application's own storage on your device, readable only by the app:
Your settings — opponent strength, challenge rule, clock, board theme, interface language, and whether coaching is on.
Games in progress and finished ones — a game is stored as the list of moves that produced it, so it can be replayed and checked.
Word lists you import, kept so a saved game can be reopened with the list that adjudicated it. They stay on the device, are never uploaded, and are yours to use lawfully.
A prepared copy of the dictionary, which takes seconds to build and is cached so the game starts quickly.
Uninstalling the app removes all of it. Nothing survives elsewhere, because there is no elsewhere.
None at all.
The app asks for no permissions. Not the network, not storage, not your contacts, not your location. The engine, the dictionary and every rule run on your device, so there is nothing for a permission to enable. If a later version needs one, this page will say which and why before that version ships.
Google, for this website only.
The app uses no third parties. This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which also runs the coaching form's spam check (Turnstile) and delivers its email, under Cloudflare's data processing terms. It uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC — and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Google Ireland Limited — which processes the data on our behalf under Google's data processing terms. Google may process it in the United States and other countries, relying on the safeguards in those terms, including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. Google signals and advertising features are switched off, so the data is not used to personalise advertising. Beyond that: no advertising network, no social login, no data broker. The store you install the app from — Google, Apple or whoever — applies its own policy to the download itself, and we receive nothing from them about you beyond what any developer sees: counts, not people.
Safe by construction.
The game is suitable for children and collects nothing from anybody, of any age. There is no chat, no account, no profile and no way for one player to reach another. The game is played at every age, which is exactly why this stays true. This website is for visitors aged 13 and over, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. If you are under 13 — or under the age of digital consent where you live, if that is higher — please choose Essential only. If we learn that analytics data came from a child under 13, we will delete it. An enquiry about lessons for a child should come from a parent, guardian or teacher, not from the child.
Yours to use.
Data protection law — including the GDPR and Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 — gives you rights to see, correct, export, object to and delete data an organisation holds about you, and to complain to a data protection authority. From the game we hold nothing. From this website, analytics data is tied only to the random identifier in your _ga cookie, so we cannot look it up by your name or email address. To act on it, withdraw consent under Cookie settings, clear this site's cookies, or send us the value of your _ga cookie and we will delete the data linked to it within one month. What is on your device is yours: delete a saved game in the app, or uninstall to remove everything at once.
If this changes, we will say so first.
This policy describes the app and this website as they are today. If a later version of the app collects anything, or if we ever use website data for advertising, this page will be updated and dated before that change takes effect — and any new kind of cookie will wait for your consent, asked again.
